Developments at Kerimaa

Kerimaa Holiday Centre is going through a period of strong growth. A second hotel will be completed at the end of March 2008.

Over 20 new holiday-home sites have been sold recently, and building is expected to begin on all of them within the next two years. We have permission to build another 70 holiday homes, and the new land-use plan that is at present under preparation will probably provide us with even more sites.

The range of leisure time activities is constantly increasing. Our golf course is one of the best in Finland. We have an extensive network of cross-country skiing trails. Our snowmobile centre includes demanding enduro routes as well as a network of groomed trails that can take you as far as Lapland.

When there is no snow on the ground, you can drive quad bikes. Our quad bike safaris are extremely popular. In winter you can also drive on our quad bike track, and take part in light-hearted races.

A newcomer to our range of activities is ice stock, i.e. Kerimaa-style curling. It’s a playful and social pastime. With a bit of practice you can become an expert.

If you want to eat in back-to-nature style, then you must try our barbecue hut in the woods. You’ll dine by lantern-light and candlelight. We often light a campfire in front of the shelter.

In between your sessions in the sauna, you can pop outside and sit in a hot tub where the water is heated to 37ºC. We even have a sauna hut floating on the lake – an extraordinary experience even for Finns.

Even though there are already more than enough activities to choose from, we are constantly looking for ways to develop and improve our facilities and services. Our restaurant has become a place to meet as well as a place to eat, since it is ideally suited for negotiations and conferences.
